What is the effect and use of sodium carboxymethylcellulose
Mar 10, 2021
Sodium carboxymethylcellulose has the functions of adhesion, thickening, strengthening, emulsification, water retention and suspension.
1. Its industrial applications: In detergents, CMC can be used as an anti-scaling agent, especially for hydrophobic synthetic fiber fabrics, which is obviously better than carboxymethyl fibers.
2. Applications of sodium carboxymethylcellulose in pharmaceutical industry: It can be used as injection emulsion stabilizer, binder and tablet film-forming agent in pharmaceutical industry.
3. CMC can be used as an anti-settling agent, emulsifier, dispersant, leveling agent and coating adhesive. This can make the solid content of coatings evenly distributed in the solvent and make the coating non-flaky for a long time. It is also widely used in paints.
