Matcha powder

Matcha, also called matcha green tea, is made from shade-grown green tea leaves. The plants used to prepare matcha are botanically called
Camellia sinensis and are grown in the shade for three to four weeks before harvest. Green tea leaves grown in the shade produce more
theanine and caffeine. After collection, the leaves are steamed to deactivate the enzymes, then dried, the stems and
the veins are removed, after which they are crushed or ground into powder.
