Application of titanium dioxide in food products.

The US Food and Drug Administration stipulates that titanium dioxide may be used as a white pigment in all foods and the maximum dosage is 1 g/kg sec. 73.575 titanium dioxide.
Titanium dioxide pigment additive can be safely used in common colored foods under the following conditions:
(1) The amount of titanium dioxide should not exceed 1 percent by weight of the food product.
(2) In accordance with the special standards published in Article 401 of the decree, colored products cannot be used unless similar standards exist that allow the addition of pigments.
(3) For colored food products, titanium dioxide food pigment additive may contain an appropriate diluent as a safe pigment additive, namely, silica as a dispersion additive, the content of which should not exceed 2 percent.
Product adaptation: canned fruits, jellies, fried foods, cocoa products, chocolate, chocolate products, hard candies, polished candies, chewing gum candies, puffed products, candies and chocolate products, icing, mayonnaise, salad dressing, jam, hard drink, food gel konjac, etc.
